KARACHI: Phones kept ringing in the Express office as citizens called in to denounce the attack on Express News DSNG and the murder of its three workers.

Among the callers from various localities of Karachi Faraz from Nazimabad said Taliban want to capture Karachi and they have started harassing people from all walks of life, said.

Akbar Khan phoned from Saddar and said the rule of law has ceased to exist in Karachi, now even media is not safe from the aggression of the Taliban. Government never took the Taliban issue seriously and now when it has gone out of control, it has left its citizens at the mercy of these cruel people.

Raees from Orangi called to say Express News was punished for telling the truth. Javed Iqbal calling from Keamari lauded the courage of Express team that continues to hold its ground despite repeated attacks. He said Taliban have proven they have no remorse in targeting workers and labourers.

Sumera from Malir rang up and expressed strong reaction over the killing of innocent employees in the name of religion. Haji Yousuf phoned from New Karachi and said: “We migrated from India to Pakistan for freedom. Where will we go now to breathe freely.”
