Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in a letter to Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of Mexico has expressed deep concern over the murder of journalist Diego García Corona in Ecatepec, State of Mexico.

PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali in his letter has condemned this brutal act and called on the authorities to immediately and thoroughly investigate the matter and hold those responsible behind the murder of Diego García Corona.

According to Centro Nacional de Comunicación Social, a group of armed men shot Diego García Corona, reporter of the weekly Morelos in his car near the Colonia Jardines de Morelos, in the municipality of Ecatepec.

The attackers fled from the spot leaving the dead body inside the car, which was later identified because of the press card of deceased.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico received a phone call from the neighbors about the incident, after which the body was shifted.
