ISLAMABAD: A\nLahore-based journalist, Anisur Rehman, who had gone missing on June 10 under\nmysterious circumstances, was recovered from a locality in Islamabad on\nThursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was stated by\nthe secretary general of the Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ),\nAsif Bhatti, in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Bhatti said that\nhe and other office-bearers of the RIUJ had been making efforts to get an FIR\nregistered over the matter when the police informed them that the journalist\nhad been found from a locality in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Bhatti said they\nwere yet to get details from the journalist about his mysterious disappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, in a joint\nstatement, PFUJ president Shahzada Zulfiqar and secretary general Nasir Zaidi\nhad urged the authorities to track down the journalist and direct the police to\nlodge an FIR against people involved in his abduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Rehman, editor of\nNida-i-Millat magazine, had reportedly received a phone call in which he was\nasked to receive his due payment for translation he did for someone. He visited\nthe Diplomatic Enclave on June 10 and had since been missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
