PESHAWAR: Senior\nSports Reporter of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Peshawar Bureau, Ijaz\nAhmed Khan sustained serious head injury in a pre-dawn attack near Northern\nBypass in the limits of Khazana Police Station here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was rushed to a\nhospital by his relatives, where he got stitches on his head. He was now\nstable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ijaz,\nhe was intercepted by two motorcyclists close to his home on main\nPeshawar-Charsadda Road near Northern Bypass at the time of Sehri. They asked\nhim about his profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he told them\nthat he was a sports journalist working at APP Peshawar Bureau, one of them hit\nhim on head with some hard thing leaving him unconscious. They attackers then\nescaped while he was rushed to the hospital by his relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told APP that he\nhad no enmity with anyone and reported the incident to Khazana Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the\njournalists community of Khyber Pakthunkhwa have expressed deep concerns over\nthe attack on a senior journalist and demanded the police authorities to ensure\nearly arrest of attackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
