\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIslamabad: Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, while felicitating\nthe journalistic community on the eve of World Press Freedom Day, on Sunday\nsaid media was an important pillar of the state. In his message, the chairman\nsaid the services rendered by the journalists for the nation and the country\nwould always be remembered. He said the media workers were performing duties\nwhile endangering their lives. \u201cIndependent journalism helps promote democratic\nbehaviour in the country,\u201d he said, and added the press gallery in the\nParliament reminded of the transparency and accountability by the public. \u201cAt a\ntime, when we are paying rich tributes to the services of media professionals,\nI will ask the government to start reconciliation process between the media\nworks and media houses immediately for resolving the issues of payment of dues\nand protection of their jobs,\u201d the Senate chairman concluded.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
