(RSF/IFEX) – 11 October 2012 – Two days ago the 14-year-old blogger Malala Yousafzai was shot and wounded in the head and neck by the Pakistan Taliban on her way home from school. A gunman stopped the school bus on which the young activist was travelling and shot her and two other girls whom he had asked to identify her.
Karachi: The Karachi Union of Journalists (D) held a protest at the press club against the killing of Mushtaq Khand, a journalist killed in firing on a rally in Khairpur on Sunday. The journalists were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of the freedom of press and against the government’s apathy over the law and order situation.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Tuesday said that a judicial commission would be constituted to ascertain facts about the killing of a private news channel journalist in Khuzdar. The commission, to be headed by a senior judge with members from journalist community, will find the facts about the killing of Abdul Haq Baloch, a working journalist, he added.
